How to Get The Peloton App On A Smart TV the Easy Way

Some riders may want a more immersive experience when using the Peloton app, and a TV would indeed create much more immersion than the tablet screen. But is the app available on Smart TVs? What about streaming devices? Let’s find out.

Smart TVs, streaming devices, and mobile devices utilizing specific Android, Fire, and Apple operating systems can access the Peloton app. Go to the app store for any of these, download and install it. For a similar result, Samsung, LG, and Roku devices will need to utilize the stream/cast method.

Let’s find out which Smart TVs support the peloton app as well as which mobile devices, and if they don’t, what other options do you have in being able to access the Peloton app on your TV because there must be a way, right?

Can you get the Peloton app on a smart TV?

You are most definitely able to get Peloton on your smart TV, and that goes for any smart TV that utilizes Android or any streaming device that you may own, such as Apple TV, Roku, and Amazon Fire.

Peloton states that they want their members to have full access to the platform whether they are trying to use it from their phone, tablet, or TV.

It would help if you remember the Peloton screen is essentially an enlarged Android tablet, and the Peloton app is just like any other app you would find on.

How to get the Peloton App on a TV

There are two ways that you can set up Peloton on your smart TV. You can download the app from the appropriate app store from your streaming device or smart TV (Google Play, Apple Store, or Amazon App Store), or you can stream and cast the app from your bike, tablet, or phone.

How do you get the Peloton app on your smart TV?

Most Smart TVs are running on Android except for the likes of Samsung and LG (but we will get to that). Android, just like your smartphone, comes with the Google Play Store.

Many Smart TVs have different layouts, but the principle is the same for all. If you want to download and install the Peloton app on your Smart TV, you will only need to navigate to the Google Play Store, search for Peloton, and install it.

You can also download the app here

After that, the Peloton app will come up on your TV in the lists of installed apps and should appear on your home screen.

Take note that only devices running Android OS 6.0 or later will be able to run the Peloton app.

How to stream devices such as Amazon Fire, Roku, or Apple TV?

This process is just as straightforward as if you were installing the app from your Smart TV and Google Play Store.

However, only devices that support Android, Fire OS, and Apple (as we stated) will support the Peloton app, so this means you will not be able to get it on a Roku device.

If you do have a Roku device, there is a way that you can set up Peloton to be viewed through it, and we will get to that below.

But for now, setting up any Android, Amazon Fire, or Apple streaming device with Peloton is simple. As with a Smart TV, all you will need to do is navigate to the associated app store, then search for the Peloton app, download and install it, and you are good to go.

There are no tricky steps or anything else you need to worry about. The Peloton app is just like any other app that is compatible with your devices. There is nothing out of the ordinary about it.

What about installing the Peloton App on Samsung Smart TVs?

Unfortunately, Samsung and LG have their own in-house proprietary OS software that does not run on Android. This means that you, in fact, cant install the Peloton app on a Samsung TV

This is because Peloton only has app versions available for Android and for Apple OS. However, there is another way that you can access Peloton from your Samsung Smart TV.

How else can you get Peloton on your TV?

If you are unable to install the peloton app on your Smart TV or streaming device for any number of reasons (specifically if your TV or streaming device won’t let you), there is a solution.

You still have the option to stream and cast the Peloton app from another device that you have that runs the app, such as the bike itself, your phone, or your tablet.

How to cast your Peloton to your TV screen

All Smart TVs and streaming devices nowadays come with a wireless casting option built into their system (whether it is done via Bluetooth or Wireless technology). To cast the app to your TV using the bike is simple enough.

  • Start by going to “Device Settings” or tap the WiFi icon located at the top right-hand corner of your Peloton screen
  • Navigate to the “Display” setting or “Connected Devices”
  • Tap the “Cast Screen” option
  • A list of your streaming devices that are able to cast will show up. Your TV or streaming device should be on this list
  • Lastly, tap on the device you wish to cast to (in this case, your Smart TV)
  • The Peloton screen should then be cast to your TV

In order to achieve the same result with one of your mobile devices, the process is simple. You will first need to set up the Peloton app on one of your mobile devices that run on Android or Apple’s OS.

Repeat the steps we listed above to do so with regards to downloading and installing the app from your Smart TV or streaming device. These same steps allow you to install the Peloton app on your mobile device.

Next, the system layout may be slightly different depending on what mobile device you have and what Android version your device is running. However, as with the Peloton bike, all you will need to do is navigate to “device settings,” then “Display” (or any naming variant they give), and then to the casting option.

Again any device (in this case, your Streming box or TV) will show up, and all you need to do is select it from the options.

Conclusion

The Peloton app is pretty much available on any smart device that includes your phone, tablet, streaming device, and even Smart TV as long it is running Android OS version 6.0 or higher, Fire OS, or Apple OS.

Samsung and LG TVs, along with the Roku streaming device, are not able to download and install the app because they do not use any of these operating systems. However, you are still able to stream the Peloton app from your bike or other devices via the casting method.

Either way, no matter what your setup is, you will be able to view the Peloton app on your TV.
